Edgar's life as a human remains mostly a mystery, but it is certain in any way that he became a ghost after his death. This ghost wasn't satisfied with his status of disembodies, immaterial ghost and took the body of an old featherless crow, which he's still trapped in. He isn't much satisfied with it either, and would have prefered to get a human body.
He now resides in the Disneyland Haunted Mansion with the other 998 Happy Haunts, and tried from times to times to steal the body of a guest. Quite like the Hitchhiking Ghosts, he never succeeded because the Ghost Host constantly warns the guests about him.
But even there, he was less lucky than the Hitchhiking Ghosts, because the Disney directors judged he was too scary and forbade him to speak to the guests anymore. Despite remaining apparently friendly to the Guests and the Ghost Host, he actually prepares a revolution with the help of the One-eyed Black Cat.
- He first appeared in 1969 in The Story and Song from the Haunted Mansion.
